If you take the 7016 or 7018 bus from the KT Gwanghwamun branch bus stop, you will arrive at the [Sangmyung University Entrance, Segomjeong Church] stop after passing the Jahamun Tunnel.
The process of walking at the Segeomjeong three-way intersection is marked with a yellow line, and the circled area is the 'Hongji Bridge' built after the same name in Hongji-dong, Jongno-gu, and the bus stop at Sangmyung University entrance where Jongno 13 bus stops.
The Hongjecheon Stream flows under the Hongji Bridge. The source of Hongjecheon is Mt. Bukak, and it flows through 15 dongs from Pyeongchang-dong, Jongno-gu to Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu in 3 districts (Jongno-gu, Seodaemun-gu, and Mapo-gu) before flowing into the Han River near Hongjecheongyo Bridge. And finally, we meet the West Sea.
When you start walking from the Hongjecheon walk under the Hongji Bridge, you walk about 310 meters to the sports facility near Segomjeong. I had the advantage of walking along the stream while forgetting the heat for a while by concentrating on the sound of flowing water in the walking section opposite to the direction of Hongjecheon.
If it rains in the summer, the ward office safety department will control access in preparation for flooding depending on the amount of rainfall.
The shelter I found while passing under the Segom 8 Bridge looked like it had already been positioned when building the pillars. The location is good enough to not obstruct pedestrian progress. When I looked up from the spot, I could see the rose of Mugunghwa in full bloom in July.
The shape of the flower is unique, so I did a flower search along with the shoot, but it tells me that it is a holly flower, but the probability is not more than 80%, so if there is a red fruit in October, it will be a decisive clue.
Before arriving at Segomjeong, you will pass under Segom 1 Bridge for the last time, and it was a section where you could concentrate on your hearing because of the sound of water coming from the fall. Part of the bridge's lower section (about 25 meters) had to cross a stepping bridge, but there was no difficulty as it was wide enough to step on.
Segeomjeong, built in the late Joseon Dynasty
The exact time of the establishment of the Segeomjeong is unknown, but there are only a few related origins. Perhaps it was because of the meaning of 'I washed the sword (in the water of Hongjecheon) and put it in its sheath, so peace has begun.' I can't help but feel most moved when I hear about the origins of the Injo Banjeong that I have worshiped.
It's not easy to see a pavilion built by the waterside like this in Seoul, so I wash my mind instead of a knife. He remembers the history of 1748 (the 24th year of King Yeongjo) when the pavilion was rebuilt and a signboard was attached to it, but it is said that what the three black hexagonal pavilion left behind was the foundation stone after a fire in a nearby factory in 1941.
Based on the year of the Segeomjeong fire, 1641, 300 years ago, was the year when Gwanghaegun, who was deposed due to Injo Banjeong, died in August (July in the lunar calendar), a strange connection is found. Gwanghaegun implemented a neutral diplomatic policy between the Ming Dynasty and the Later Geum, but after the rebellion against King Injo, he adhered to the policy of pro-myeong distribution. This was due to the surname dividend policy. Through the movie 'Namhansanseong', which was released in 2017, I tried to connect the painful history that could not avoid 'The Humiliation of the Three Jeondos (January 1637)'.
Sunscreen. It refers to a picture drawn on a fan.
Among the Seonmyeon paintings drawn by Gyeomjae Jeongseon, there is 'Segomjeongdo'. There is a 'T'-shaped three black pavilion on top of the long square stone pillar, and the expression of the stream flowing down between the wide and flat rocks around the pavilion is also impressive. It seems that there was a lot of water flowing along the valley due to the imagination or rain.
There are two donkeys near the (actually quite high) fence around Segeomjeong, which exists only in the picture, and after dismounting from the donkeys, entering the pavilion, two scholars wearing hats are sitting at a distance and looking to each other and chatting.
We found evidence of the Joseon version of social distancing.
A painting drawn by looking at and interpreting nature
Assuming that Gyeomjae Jeongseon left a picture on the fan based on the 1748 that the signboard was made according to the construction of Segeomjeong, it is estimated that it was completed at the age of seventy-three, but it could be later.
It was 'Segeomjeongdo' left by Gyeomjae Jeongseon as a seonmyeon painting that was referenced when rebuilding the Segeomjeong in the spring of 1977.
The center of the painting is Segeomjeong and the valley, where you can appreciate the beautiful background, but there are many houses around Hongjecheon. . I think that the human desire to be close to nature is unchanging...
July is the month to prepare for the unpredictable rainy season. Segomjeong in Sinyeong-dong, Jongno-gu is a place that shows off its topographical charm when the amount of water is abundant in moderate rain. I like to hit the water hole while looking at the cool waters of Hongjecheon, so it is my own vacation spot that everyone I know knows, but who doesn't know about it.
