Naksan Children's Park (near Naksan Park) is a green space close to the apartment complex, and although it is not large, well-grown trees provide shade in summer and beautiful leaves in autumn, providing autumn romance. Our footsteps were heading along 'Naksan 5-gil' to a very nice observatory.
It was cloudy but the weather was nice. When I was passing the gentle downhill and uphill sections, I could see Namsan Seoul Tower in the distance. Comparing the height of Naksan as a standard, there is a difference of about 2 times, but my location seems to be quite high. Of course, I took the village bus comfortably, so I will introduce the transportation method at the end.
There is also a cafe in front of the destination (Changsinsungin Quarry Observatory), which is also a scenic restaurant. It was a location where you could see Dongdaemun Doota and Namsan Seoul Tower.
Plants that could be seen around Cafe Tertre and the quarry observatory were lily of the valley, castor seeds that looked like pea-sized sea urchins (although they were before they turned red), and a pale purple honey ant odor. There is also a deck road section that is good for a walk around. Looking up at the sky during the frequent heatwave, the flowers seemed to have said, 'Give me some water~'.
This is the Changshin Soongin Quarry Observatory with a unique architecture. We have installed and operated an elevator for the handicapped. All users must go through the visitor verification process on the 2nd floor. QR check-in is also available.
The elevator door opens and the view unfolds through the inside of the cafe. You will also find traces of an incision that was cut on one side to supply stones in the past. The mined granite was used as a material for iconic buildings such as subway stations and city halls in downtown Seoul. It was a small space, but it made me feel satisfied several times more.
It seems that the table and chairs made of transparent plastic were chosen considering the size of the interior space (so that it does not look cramped). The location in the photo was a space where you could take off your shoes and sit down to drink tea, but it has become a preferred place for cafe visitors because of the reduced inconvenience.
Beverage orders are made through the kiosk by touching the desired menu and inserting a check (or credit) card to pay. Staff are available to assist those who have difficulty accessing the device.
As the harsh wind calmed down, we drank all our drinks and went up to the quarry observation deck on the 3rd floor. Of course, even if you do not order a drink at the cafe, you can use the observatory for free as long as visitors check-in.
Café Camel Hours of Operation: Weekdays 1pm to 9pm / Weekends 10am to 10pm
